There is something incredibly special about seeing one of your best friends get married.
Last Friday, I had the opportunity to attend the wedding of my good friend Cora and her (now) husband Jason, in the Albuquerque LDS (Latter Day Saint) temple, not just as a friend and bridesmaid, but also as her photographer.
When Cora asked me to be one of her bridesmaid’s, I was excited. When she asked me to take her engagement photos, I was flattered. When she asked me to do her wedding photos, I was 1) scared I would ruin my best friend’s wedding photos, 2) worried about being totally overwhelmed, and 3) sincerely touched that she would trust me with such an important day in her life.
While my fears for numbers 1 and 2 turned out to be unfounded, number 3 has turned out to be a gross understatement, as this was one of the most special experiences I have had the chance to photograph, perhaps only second to shooting my older sister’s Bridal session.
So in the spirit of all things love related, I am sharing my favorite love-filled photos today (plus a little preview of the wedding… because I just can’t help sharing all the loveliness)!
3. Hayden + Sean
These two were adorable and willing to trek through the muddy Arkansas woods (I still feel bad about that… sorry guys!) to get some great shots. Also, I think Hayden may be the most simultaneously sweet and tenaciously courageous person I have ever met. Sean is a lucky man!
2. Taylor + Hunter
Taylor is a very close family friend (I always tell people her mother is my second mom). To see her get married, and have the honor of documenting this stage of her life was such a fun opportunity.
3. Cora + Jason
What more can I say about Cora and Jason? To see them make a commitment to love and support each other for all eternity is a special memory I will hold on to for many years. Here are some shots from their engagement session in the Utah Rockies:
