Maddie Mondays
*If you’re new here, Maddie Mondays are my personal project days, where I don’t work on anything WORK related, and get to do whatever house project I’m currently knee deep in!
Several months ago, I started an unforeseeably large project in my front yard. It’s always been a dream of mine to have an English cottage garden, so, at the beginning of May, Hoki and I moved the arbor we’ve had sitting around from our wedding into place to mark the edge of this dream garden.
The last few Maddie Mondays (and Saturdays…and any free evening) have been consumed by installing a brick path (the first step toward my garden) from my front sidewalk to that arbor. I finally finished laying all the brick in the path itself and have now started adding the borders on either side.
Once the borders are finished, we can dig up the existing grass on either side and expand the existing bed all the way up to the path and add a new garden bed on the opposite side of the path. I am so excited for that step, because it means buying and planting more flowers!
I haven’t decided what, exactly, I’m going to plant, but I am going to have so much fun figuring it out!
Passages
In my previous newsletter, I announced that I’d started on the next scene for Passages, currently titled “Differences”. Sadly, between Green Rider and life in general, “Differences” had to take a backseat these last few weeks.
Good news, though! Things have calmed down enough that I can turn at least part of my attention back to “Differences”. I have made it almost halfway through the first costume (if you remember, this scene has two), the dress.
My only concern with this next scene (at least right now, ha) is that Chloë is headed to college in a different state at the end of August, and I’m not sure I’ll be able to get everything done before she leaves. Aside from the costumes and the set, I need to find another model to pose with her.
I will be trying my hardest to get everything in place so that we can shoot this scene this month, but, worst case, we change this into a studio shoot and do it when she comes home in December!
Green Rider: First Rider’s Call
We did it! We did the first (and biggest) photoshoot! I took over 1700 photos, so we have plenty of material to work with. I’ve been editing the images on Twitch, and it’s been so fun sharing the photos with everyone.
The next step? Shooting the Sacoridian Waltz scene. I’m making all the ball gowns out of old wedding dresses. Basically, I rip apart a thrifted wedding dress and recreate it into a ballgown. This shoot will take place in a couple of months, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
In addition to the waltz scene, I still have to do a handful of character portraits, but those should be fairly painless (assuming I can find the models)!

Patreon
One of the perks of the higher tiers on Patreon is an annual gift. This year, I created a journal featuring a portrait from one of my earlier Passages series. I love the way it turned out, and I really hope all of my sunroom patrons enjoyed it!
Patrons receive perks like this as well as additional behind the scenes content, voting rights to help me name the final images in my Passages series or pick what I do next, and more. Tiers start as low as $1/month, too!
Twitch
My personal schedule has changed a bit this past month, and, related, so has my Twitch schedule! From now on, I’ll be streaming:
Mondays at 4p CT
Wednesdays at 9p CT
Thursdays/Fridays at 3p CT
Each week, I alternate between sewing streams and photo editing streams, and I split my time between working on First Rider’s Call and Passages. And (soon!) I’ll be adding another super special project. Here’s your hint: Marvel Universe!
If you want to join us, follow me on Twitch or join my Discord to be notified when I go live!
