Growing up, one of my favorite things was family trips on Saturdays out to Garfield, a small town in rural Arkansas with a population of just over 500 people. Tucked along the winding forested road leading to Missouri was my family’s favorite garden center, as well as Martin Greer’s Candy Shop. After a morning spent admiring the butterfly koi swimming around the lilypad-covered ponds, we would make the quick drive up the road to Martin Greer’s little white store to pick out treats for the drive home. Most of the time our little box of handpicked chocolates was devoured as soon as we got back in the car, the chocolate covered pretzels and strawberries too delicious for patience to ever be a virtue during our ride home.
Do you remember getting candies from your favorite candy store as a kid? How it felt to open up that box of chocolates and sit there in anticipation, trying to decide which one to try first? Turtle pecan? Caramel? You really couldn’t go wrong, whichever you chose. While in the brainstorming stage for my newest product, I realized that this was the feeling I wanted you to have when you found my packages on your doorstep. With this as my inspiration, I set out on a hunt through my favorite thrift stores to find what I needed.
With some small wooden boxes, some paints and stains and my favorite images printed out on 4×6 paper, I’ve created my own little box of chocolates, the Collector’s Box, with a little bit more magic and storytelling inside. Whether you want one to display on your coffee table, or to add personality to your favorite little nooks and hideaways by framing the images inside, you can enjoy it however you like best!
My favorite part about the Collector’s Boxes? Each month, I will be entering everyone on my mailing list (yes, even if you joined my little adventure here on the blog months ago!) into a drawing to win one of these little treasures. So if you haven’t already, be sure to join my mailing list by filling out the form HERE. Once you’ve joined my little adventure, you’ll be entered into the drawing each month automatically!
If you’re curious about the details, click HERE to read more about my new Collector’s Boxes. I will be drawing the first winner on August 31st, so make sure to join my mailing list now! I think you’ll love reading along with the adventure in your inbox each Wednesday, so I hope to see you there!
