Welcome to Sugar Springs, friend! My name is Madeline, a 30something year old living in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas. Since I was a child, I have been a lover of fantasy, couture fashion, and creativity.
(No joke, as a nine-year-old, one of my first souvenirs I ever purchased was a book on royal gowns and as an 11-year-old, I pretty much cycled through the Lord of the Rings trilogy on repeat!)
More than anything, though, I love to infuse whatever I create with a story of its own. Whether it’s through a gown that feels like it’s stepped out of a fairy tale, a photoshoot that captures a fleeting moment or emotion, or a unique treasure in my boutique, I pour my heart into creating pieces that mean something. Everything you’ll find here carries a bit of my soul—and I’d like to think it leaves room for a little of yours, too.

The Journey That Led Me Here
Like many artists, my journey began long before I realized it had. Growing up, my mother and grandmother instilled in me a spirit of creativity that shaped who I am today. I spent many summer afternoon’s painting at my grandma’s kitchen table and crafting at my mother’s knee, surrounded by countless examples of how imagination and patience could transform the simplest of things into something unique and beautiful. Their influence planted the earliest seeds of my passion for creating, showing me that art could be both deeply personal and endlessly inspiring to others.
With a foundation of creativity, and my love for fantasy as a teenager, I suppose it was only a matter of time before I discovered my own method of storytelling. I will forever be grateful to photographers Alex Stoddard, Brooke Shaden, and Bella Kotak, who showed me how I could combine all the seperate fragments of creativity and imagination I had always tried to juggle (sewing, drawing, painting, photography…) into a singular art form I could truly be passionate about.
Balancing Art and Motherhood
As for what inspires me now, much of my life and creativity revolves around my role as a mother. My daughter, born in the summer of 2023, has opened my eyes even more to the magic in everyday moments. And while I will be the first to admit that it has been a challenge navigating this new identity, where much of what was once my own is now dedicated to someone else, I wouldn’t trade this period of life for anything. Her curiosity and sense of wonder inspire me daily, and I hope the things I learn from her can make the creations I bring to life more meaningful.
Parenthood has also taught me the beauty of imperfection and the importance of adaptability—lessons that resonate deeply in the creative process. Sometimes, the most unexpected detours lead to the most extraordinary outcomes, both in life and in art and I feel so fortunate that I get to learn that with someone as fun, exhausting, and spirited as my daughter.
